VIVA VOCE YOUTH CHOIR News (See sections below for news specific to each choir)

VV Business Partnerships / Message to Your Singer in Concert Program

You are invited to partner with Viva Voce Youth Choir in our mission to inspire and connect singers to each other and to their larger community through excellence in choral singing and service projects.  We are now opening up our Partnership Campaign and encourage you to get involved!  You can partner with us as an individual, family, or business. VV will showcase our business partners in this year’s two concert programs, and all business and other partners have the option of having a 2-line message to your singer printed in the concert programs. Forms with more information will be going home with your singer at this week’s rehearsal or go HERE  to find out more! If you know local business owners, please see me for extra forms and encourage them to get involved.

Saline Christmas Parade–December 1

Viva Voce kids and families will be walking in the Saline Christmas Parade in downtown Saline on Saturday, 12/1.  Viva Voce singers will be singing “Silent Night” in front of the grandstand in the middle of the parade at the intersection of Michigan Ave. and Saline-Ann Arbor Rd.

Please let us know HERE about your family’s plans to participate.

Please note:

  • Your whole family is encouraged to walk with us in the parade.

  • We have signs to hold and hundreds of promotional items to pass out and will greatly appreciate your support and help with that.  We also need lots of family members to walk behind our banner and smile and wave!

  • Your family is invited to wear Santa hats and/or red scarves for the parade.  If that doesn’t work out to wear those, no worries–but please dress warmly!

  • Your family is also invited to bring candy to hand out at the parade if you would like to do so.

  • Parade Line-up starts at City Hall parking lot and along Davenport St. & Detroit St.  More specific location will be communicated the week of the parade.

  • Meet at 5:00 p.m. at the Parade Line-up Location. Parade begins at 5:30 and is usually done within 60-75 minutes.

Fundraiser with Perfectly Posh

This is for:
1. Any Cantabella singer who is attending and fundraising for the Chicago trip in June! Any funds they raise will be applied to their trip balance.
2. Anyone who is NOT attending the Chicago trip but would like a jumpstart on holiday shopping and help a great cause at the same time!  Any funds they raise will go toward our VV Scholarship Fund, helping local singers participate in Viva Voce who would not normally be able to participate due to financial hardship.
Perfectly Posh is a company that offers head-to-toe pampering products. The products are naturally-based and made in the USA. With the exception of a couple extension lines, all Perfectly Posh products are less than $25.
Representative (and Amabile and Cantabella parent AND VV Board Member) Jackie Marcinkiewicz is donating 100% of her commission (25% of purchase amount) for this fundraiser. The Viva Voce fundraiser is a great way to get started on some Christmas shopping. Posh products make great stocking stuffers, teachers gifts, hostess gifts, etc.  If you’d like to get involved…..
  • November 13 or 15 rehearsal–your singer will receive a catalog and order form. This is the catalog of Core Products, but there are other seasonal and specialty products that can be viewed at: www.poshedfromabove.com.
  • Please note two things on the order form:
    • Where it says “Volunteer Name”, please enter YOUR CHILD’S NAME and their CHOIR NAME (Brio / Amabile / Cantabella)
    • Please include sales tax (6% for Michigan residents)
  • November 27 or 29–please turn in order forms and all sale money at rehearsal in an envelope marked with your singer’s name. Any checks should be made payable to Jackie Marcinkiewicz.
  • December–products will be sent home with your singers at a rehearsal in December.
  • Online shopping option is available only at  www.poshedfromabove.com under the party name  “Viva Voce Fundraiser.”  You would need to select that party when checking out. Please note: shipping costs will be added for any online order.
  • If you are ordering online and are raising funds for an individual’s Chicago trip, you will indicate that child’s name by typing “c/o CHILD’S NAME” in the Address 2 Line in the check out.
Questions can be directed to Jackie at: poshedfromabove@gmail.com.

Regarding hair, jewelry, make-up:
Hair should be worn simply and off the face. Unobtrusive hair bands or barrettes that match your hair color may be worn (no colors, please). No jewelry except small earrings, please. No make-up or light make-up (using muted colors) is preferred.
Viva Voce Performance Scarf/Tie Purchase
Starting this season, each VV choir will have its own matching scarf/tie color for our formal performances.  We will not be using the scarves/ties from last season.  These will be ready to hand out in early December, but we will begin collecting payment for them now and through Nov. 15.  The cost is $8, and this can be brought in cash or check (to Viva Voce) in a labeled envelope to rehearsal (name and “scarf/tie $”) or paid online HERE.

Bottle/Can and Bottle/Can Return Slip Collection

We will be collecting bottle and cans AND bottle/can return slips at EVERY REHEARSAL this season. There will be a bin for cans and bottles in the waiting area at FPC and a collection box for return slips near the attendance sign-in. All proceeds will go to help our Cantabella singers on scholarship attend their Cantabella Chicago Trip in June.

If your child is attending the trip and wants their return slip funds to go toward the balance of their trip cost, they need to place the bottle slip in an envelope and label the envelope with their first and last name. The funds from slips collected through 9/18 will be taken off of students’ payment that is due 10/1. Viva Voce will communicate to you the amount due by 9/21.
